How can you support your teens to make good decisions about their future when the world is full of change and uncertainty?

The Career Clinic is presenting a 1 hour session 7.30pm-8.30pm at DEVONPORT COMMUNITY HOUSE on Tuesday September 13th, with a charge of $5 per family, to help equip parents with the skills to support their teens in their career decisions. (No booking required)

Talking to teens about the decisions they are making in regards to their career choices can be pretty challenging for parents. How to support your teen in making decisions about their career

Career Clinic have made several presentations to Auckland Secondary Schools throughout 2013 and 2012 – Western Springs College, Auckland Grammar School & St Cuthbert’s College, ACG Senior College, Rangitoto College, Rosmini College and Hebron Christian College. In each case the room has been packed with interested parents wanting to get advice on how they can best support their children. Here are some comments from the schools:

Janet & Caroline at Rangitoto College

Caroline and Janet, thank you for your wonderfully informative and interactive session you gave tonight. We all came away with some valuable tools to help our children make positive career choices and the insight to not sweat the small things if the journey is not as straight forward as we would wish. Thank you for coming to Parnell College and we look forward to hosting an event with you in the future.” Sally Herbert, Friends of Parnell College

“The Rosmini College PTFA was delighted with the careers evening for parents run by Caroline and Janet from the Career Clinic in August 2012.  The evening focused on how parents can support their children in making good career decisions.  Parents came away with both some practical strategies for assisting their teens in a big-picture way, and some helpful hints on how to respond to their teens in everyday conversations.  Not to mention the thoughtful reflection on their own careers that the evening provided!  Both Caroline and Janet are excellent speakers and the presentation flowed seamlessly between them.  We would highly recommend their services to other school communities looking to provide some up-to-date, relevant and practical advice to parents.” Kim Byrne, Chairperson, Rosmini College PTFA

“Caroline and Janet, it was a delight to have you present to us last night. The evening was both inspiring and informative. The parents and students went away with some constructive and innovative ideas on how to make great career decisions. Thank you so much for coming  – we look forward to you returning in the future.” Jayne Albiston – President, Rangitoto College PTA
